Files wont download from gopro to mac

Also if you used Quik before with your GoPro Hero 7, you can still use it now, nothings changed except the fact they won't be making any more changes to the software.

So keep your camera, keep using your old copy of Quik if you want and just wait to see what's coming. I just hope it comes soon! Do you have a GoPro account set up? Have you registered your camera using that GoPro account and are you logging into Quik using the same GoPRo account login? I have my story i need uploaded to laptop file but can not download Quik to HP Laptop.

I just hope GoPro doesn't increase the tech specs of the new software. My 3rd gen Core i5 with integrated graphics can't take much more. Do I have to get a Mac to import my files? I've been with GoPro since the Hero and I've fallen in love with the camera hardware but software wise it sucks. That camera crashed on the first day and I completely panic, it took me 3 hours to do a force shutdown and update the firmware. I remember trying to use GoPro Studio on my core2duo laptop.

Now with my H7B the camera still has unsolved bugs, sometimes the camera is completely off with all of that GPS, Wi-Fi and other crap off but when I turn the camera on it has almost no battery left. Again I love the camera's hardware and I love the quality that it has and when I work it's freaking awesome. But when the software decides to crap out, the experience is frustrating.

I was disappointed to see this app discontinued and difficult to find the legacy download link. GoPro's customer experience has been going down the drain lately. This shouldn't have been removed until there is a replacement. If the reason for removing it was because it wasn't compatible with the HERO 8, they should have advertised it as not being compatible instead of prematurely hiding the app from everyone.

Yes, I know the app isn't the best for editing videos, I do use other apps for that. Quik was a nice app to import and organize my GoPro videos. One reason why I used Quik was that I could view and create time lapse videos from still images effortlessly.

Another reason for using Quik was that it could display gauges or telemetry on the video speed, height, GPS path, etc. Are there any other good alternatives out there that can do this for when Quik finally does bite the dust? Late to this party and might already have been said or debunked but I will venture a guess.

A licence they had has expired and can't therefore offer the old software anymore without buying that licence or royalty again. Here's my take on this sorry if this is a double post, my first attempt didn't show up. A licence they paid for has expired and they had to either pull the app or by to renew the licence. I guess they chose to pull it and since the new one wasn't ready, we were left with no version to download.

Bad planning on their part if that's the case. I have no doubt that it is easier to hide the software from new customers since it doesn't fully support the current model. Answering question about why a product isn't supported by the current software 9 months after it's release doesn't look good.

My theory of why the deep sales of the past few months has more to do with investors and numbers. I doubt they know that the software side is way behind. I don't use the software for anything other than importing to a hard drive and almost an asset manager.

If you think the Hero8 has it bad then don't even think about the camera. I have always said the hardware is great and that's all I want from GoPro but if you need the software for your purpose then I would return it if at all possible.

I don't see the new software doing what I want for my purpose and again 9 months is a long time to hold your breath. My hint to the software team I don't use social media so why is your software based on it? I don't stream a live feed connected to a device that is already capable of streaming a live feed.

I don't want your software to sift my media and pick out parts that GoPro decides most interesting. It's funny because it seems more random than scientific.

My hint to the hardware engineers Why would you take your top of the line camera that's capable of 4k60 with the best stabilization out there and strap a media mod on it with all the lights, screen and microphones not safe for almost any action which obviously is marketed to a segment that records only 24fps?

No not 25fps from our PAL friends but 24fps. Have you seen the never ending whining when any camera released doesn't support 24fps? I think the Hero7 Silver would be the smartest model at half the price to take the action out of your action camera.

A Hero8 Black with MediaMod, screen, lights, and a microphone far exceeds the price of much more capable mirrorless camera with things like face tracking and depth of field just to name a few.

Seems some of your info is a bit behind the times and you're saying things that people have said about a year ago. Let's bring you up to speed just so you have some knowledge:. Actually since GoPro have been busy totally redesigning their software, why on earth would they spend time and effort into updating their old software when everyone basically hates it?

So yes, new camera, not supported by old software nor will it ever be due to the fact that old software was terrible. Just terrible. Actually it's fact. GoPro is a publicly traded company and by law they are not allowed to operate at a loss. This doesn't mean they can't post a loss, but lawfully they are supposed to do everything in their power to post a profit.

If this means pumping out camera's at discounted prices to sell units, then this is what they have to do. They actually do and have admited as much on several occasions, you should read some of the interviews with the CEO where he states that they need to concentrate on software developement. In fact due to this realization they have thrown vast resources behind the GoPro app, are currently working on a reframing GoPro player for media and have recently trademarked the name "Mural" for their new video and photo editing suite that's also in developement.

See above, the GoPro Player which reframes footage in Windows is now in Beta and can be downloaded from their facebook group for testing. Agreed and this is a failing by GoPro and they have admitted as much. Their software was terrible and they are making huge steps to correct this.

You should join some of the beta groups to see what they are working on. Because GoPro don't make camera's for one individual, they make camera's for the mass consumer and run feedback groups adn surveys based on what people use their camera's for.

The majority use them on the go for posting clips to social media. Again, that's what you, 1 person does, however the majority of streamers and video production crew that use GoPro's do connect their GoPro's to a capture device for live streaming rather than just rely on the GoPro's wireless feed. This allows them to switch camera's on their feed etc.

Again the majority of GoPro users are not professional video editors or have experience in making a collage of clips, so the GoPro mobile app tries to give people the best of both worlds. Have the app pick and edit for you or you can just use manual control. The M. Zuiko Digital 20mm F1. Nikon has officially released the Nikkor Z 28mm F2. The TG-6 is a pocketable, ultra-rugged camera with a blend of features that will appeal to many different audiences: Everyday shooters and parents who want something that can be dropped or get wet, unlike their smartphone Serious underwater photographers who want to dive deeper and use off-camera flashes Hikers and other outdoorsy folks who want to track their progress and incorporate things like location and altitude into the metadata of their photos For those in the first group, the TG-6's auto mode can handle just about every situation, and its numerous scene modes are well organized.

Suilven Olympus are pulling out of the digital camera market altogether. SaraPia The big plus for me, and I haven't seen this mentioned yet, is that when I am using my small carry-around camera, which would be the lx Mark II when on dry land or the TG 4 or 6 when at the beach and in the water, as compared with my smartphone that undeniably takes good pictures, the camera has released me from my connections to email and social media and browsing the web, and that, to me is worth an awful lot.

Kawika Nui They did mention it. More than once. Quiverbow I know I'm late to the party but just to chuck in my 'apneys worth. And I can still phone home; you can't. RdCF Why don't you done one of these to a surf photog, so that somebody can properly test it on the environment most people will buy this for pics on the beach, in shallow water, of fast moving kids and little fishes? Kawika Nui I had a TG-4 and used it for surf pics. RdCF Hadn't seen this one until now I can wait for TG Removable card?

No iPhone. HowaboutRAW snapa, You said "cell phone", which means smartphone, not simple cell phone, and iPhones are a big part of the smartphone market, whether you like it or not. No, you've not answered my question.

Except here, where you've showed your "wisdom": "Also, removable cards are a thing of that past, so get with the times. User My smartphone is in a drybag when I am kayaking, but the drybag plastic is a poor lens cover, even if it doesn't fog it will soften, distort and flare the image. Any this does 4x zoom too. LenRivers Each iteration of the TG class has been really great. Kawika Nui Does this camera have an extended optical zoom i. Kawika Nui No, I don't trust or want resampling, and that's why I want a simple sensor crop.

Scottelly I wish someone would make a camera like this with a tilt screen and a 1" 20 MP sensor. Kawika Nui Waterproof tilt screen would be a stretch - lots to go wrong and more weight and size. HowaboutRAW frue: Do you want an optical zoom? The Olympus has an optically weak lens. Dpreviewmember At the end of his review Jeff Kellers conclusion is "Not good for those who want smartphone IQ or better McFern I understand the desire for ultimate IQ and I understand the philosophy of repurposing old items, but, there is still one thing these rugged cameras can do that cell phones can not do, especially cell phones in big bulky housings.

Does your son's smartphone have an optical zoom? Scottelly I had a TG , and it was awesome. Rick Baumhauer Try the fish on the mode dial. HowaboutRAW TechN1: Try shooting raw, and then WB adjustment for shooting underwater of any colour is easy, and you don't have to rely on guesses by a computer. Scottelly I'm with you on this. BobT If I were young again and as active as I was, this would be my system camera. Scottelly LOL.

Scottelly Yeah, they need to put one of those 1" sensors in a waterproof camera, like the Nikon 1 AW camera had, but in a compact with a zoom lens. HowaboutRAW tbcass: The lens zooms internally. That's how all of these cameras work. HowaboutRAW last paragraph fixed: "So the sealed zoom and the battery door seal are NOT the impressive seals, it's the wheels' and ports' sealing that is most impressive.

Scottelly Nikon makes a camera called the AW, with a zoom lens that is good to ft deep. For WB reasons alone, raw is very useful with such cameras. HowaboutRAW ikai Now how many smartphones have optical zooms in early ? Not many. LucaPCP Yes, that's true. My iPhone 8 in a waterproof case takes better photos. JackM Your iPhone 8 is already waterproof by itself.

Also "better photos" is not the same as "photos with better IQ". Revenant Considering everything else we use our smartphones for, a lot of people wouldn't want to risk losing or breaking it. JackM I use the 52mm camera on my iPhone X significantly more than the wide angle.

Alexis D Why do people keep thinking that iPhones can represent the best in smartphones, when comparing phones vs camera?? C'mon guys, your comments abvoe are getting ridiculous. JackM Alexis D, it's pretty ridiculous of you to call anyone else's comments ridiculous without actually doing the research yourself on which phone camera is objectively "best". JackM I used to be an anti-Apple snob.

I also shoot a 5D4 and L lenses, but the iPhone is always with me, so, the camera gets used. Apple hardware and support has gone way down since Jobs died.

Juggernaut I keep wishing that they will come out with a 1 inch sensor - too bad. HowaboutRAW Juggernaut You are not alone in wishing for such a camera, with an an optically good lens of course. HowaboutRAW ikaika Almost no one will use this camera below about 12 feet beneath the surface. The 50 capacity of this Olympus is just for marketing purposes. Juggernaut Actually, this camera is not a gimmick. Remember, even a noisy image can still be a great shot! That being said, give me a 1'inch sensor already!

JackM OK Boomer. You know they do other things besides phone calls. I bet you still leave people voicemails. I use the 52mm camera all the time. JackM your grandpa is a she? Right, it was a replacement for the original 50mm lens for that body from the early s.

Serenity Now Stick a phone in it already?! FuhTeng I really enjoy my TG My 2 year old loves it that he can make photos like daddy. Josegaut That's why many people here miss the point of that camera : it has a great "fun factor" , you can take it anywhere and don't have to be afraid to leave it in the hands of children.

Ben O Connor I love the fact, that its a zoom camera and all action happens in a close weather sealed chamber. Jefftan am i the only one that hate phone HDR look, oversharpening, aggressive NR, fake over saturated color? Suilven Biggest problem with the Tough sensor is exactly the same as nearly all digital cameras including expensive DSLRs. Rolandigital So true.

I hate my S10 for stupid amounts of HDR. Ruins almost every shot. Tord S Eriksson Why is it the best?! Not pitched against anything else, how can it be the best?! It can be good, but not best, as best is compared to something else. JackM Because there are no other new tough cameras on the market. Tord S Eriksson Still not the best, could also be called the worst, just as true, if that is the only one?!

Wake me up when it's 1" or APS-C. Jefftan also am i the only one that hate phone HDR look, oversharpening, aggressive NR, fake over saturated color? JakePhotoGuy You are not alone. JordanAT "Olympus TG-6 review: TG-5 with new firmware" might be more accurate, or maybe "Olympus TG-6 review: this time they didn't even change the case color" I get that we all love a new model number, but the simple fact is that this is essentially the same camera as the TG Tord S Eriksson It really shows that compacts have reached their limits, and that progress for the TYGs have been extremely slow, although quite good-looking!

Amazingly, hardly anything has improved over the earlier models. Dale I have the TG5 and had the TG4; can't speak about the TG6 of course but find these cameras to be used almost exclusively for snorkelling and a little macro. Do you have any recommendations? Com esse programa consigo conectar a Gopro hero 5 session? The Hero 5 Session is compatible with the Camera Suite app and can be used for streaming. But please keep in mind that you need a LAN cable for the internet connection. Good morning!

I then wanted to start a Facebook Live so I connected an Apple usb ethernet adapter to connect to the internet. My OBS gopro preview froze, so I stopped the streaming server.

When I restarted it, OBS did not the stream anymore, so I tried to go over the tutorial process again. From then on, I could not make it work anymore. Now everytime I start ffmpeg, I get terminal errors, with different error messages and lengths of corrupt packets, but always ending with this message:. I also tried to adjust gopro stream settings in Camera Suite but that made the app crash.

But everytime I try to replicate that little bit of progress, ffmpeg stops again. I guess it must have something to do with the ffmpeg settings? Below is some output of my terminal window, can you please take a look at it and maybe figure out what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance! I have replied to your email a few minutes ago.

Please let me know if you have not received the email. And how to fix this issue? Well, you could be facing importing issues due to the MP4 file codec. After Effects prefers H. So if you receive an error message, or the video display is not proper, then you may have to install the codec used by the file. The procedure is similar to almost all tools: You need to download and install the software. Next, you should choose the output format, i.

The output videos will have the original quality of the MP4 video.
