They convince Elastigirl to be the face of the revival while Mr. Incredible has to play Mr. Generally speaking, this is fun. It's a solid superhero movie and a fine family adventure. There is one hilarious scene with Jack-Jack and a raccoon. The only misstep is wiping Tony's memories.
It would be so much more compelling for Tony to know Violet's secret and have them deal with that. It would make the young romance much more powerful and more dangerous. He could be a damsel in distress or he could slip up with the secret. There are more possibilities with him knowing. I would like Dash to dial back the bratty kid act by a half level. This continues to be great for the loving family at its center.
I love Mr. Incredible figuring out how to use Jack-Jack as a laser gun. It's a fun movie and a fun franchise. To say I was anticipating this movie would be a huge understatement. The game progresses through the plot throwing bad guy after bad guy at you and systematically switching who you are controlling. But for the most part there's nothing really interesting here.
You have super strength as Mr. Incredible, you have ice as Frozone and so on and so forth. The game's milling bad guys only have a chance of beating you with sheer numbers, because rocket scientists they ain't. I found the most annoying elements of the game were the bad guys you couldn't just run up to and blast away at until they dropped.
Instead of making these trickier bad guys smarter they just made them tougher. So, for instance, to beat the buzzsaw robots, you have to patiently wait until they stop sawing and then run up to them and pop them a few times. This requires neither skill nor timing.
In fact the only thing it does require is patience, something I don't have a lot of for games that waste my time with blast characters, generic bad guys and gameplay that is humdrum at best. After they are arrested after unsuccessfully trying to stop the Underminer, their future seems bleak. However, the wealthy Deavor siblings of Devtech offer new hope with a bold project to rehabilitate the public image and legal status of Supers, with Elastigirl being assigned on point to be the shining example.
